Clarinet Leads the Way! Join us for a program that features MOT’s principal clarinetist Brian Bowman in the richly textured Clarinet Quartet by K. Penderecki, Trio for oboe, clarinet and bassoon by contemporary American composer Kirke Mechem, Suite for oboe, bassoon and strings by Johannes Brahms, and Con Slancio, a lively work for bass clarinet and strings by another American, Justin Boyer. |

Reflections on Cyrano (and more) The Cyrano portion of this creative program includes Souvenir d’Arras for piano trio by Detroit’s own David DiChiera, as well as works by Pierre Thilloy and Stephanie Compare, with original narration written by Thomas Sertillanges (in English translation). All three pieces were premiered in France by these musicians in May 2009. David DiChiera will join us for this performance! You’ll also hear Quintet for oboe, clarinet and strings by Sergei Prokofiev and a brand new work for these same instruments by composer /bassist Clark Suttle. |

Septet and Melodies CMSC is known for presenting rarely performed works and Suite for 2 violins, viola, cello, bass, trumpet and piano by Danish composer Hilda Sehested is a perfect example! You’ll also hear From Spoon River by Richard Ratner and Vocalise by Andre Previn, both featuring lyric mezzo-soprano Barbara Bland. |

France, From Belgium and Italy The season finale features works for string quartet including Molto Adagio and Meditation by Belgian composer Guillaume Lekeu, an encore presentation of the charming Suite en Sol by Jacques de la Presle and the exciting work entitled Rispetti e Strambotti by G. Francesco Malipiero. |
